(SPRING VALLEY, IL) – Grow Spring Valley is proud to launch a new community garden at Hall High School, creating a space where students and community members can come together to learn, grow, and give back. This garden will serve as more than just a teaching tool—it will also help address food insecurity in our community by providing fresh, locally grown produce for those in need.
To bring this vision to life, we are investing in the necessary planters, but we need additional funding to purchase high-quality soil and materials to ensure the garden thrives. We are incredibly grateful to Donna and Joe Rutgens for their generous support in making this possible.
In honor of their late daughter, Julie Rutgens Taliani, we would like to dedicate this community garden in her name. Julie’s legacy as a compassionate nurse and her dedication to helping others perfectly reflect the spirit of what this garden will represent—a place of growth, learning, and giving back to the community.
The Julie Rutgens Taliani Community Garden at Hall High School will be a resource for the entire community, offering access to fresh produce and fostering a sense of togetherness. This initiative is not just about planting seeds in the soil but about planting hope and opportunity for all.
